Miguel's Kicking Victim May Have Brain Damage, Lawyer Says

The woman Miguel accidentally kicked in the head during his Billboard Music Awards performance last month may have suffered a more serious trauma than anyone previously thought. On Tuesday, June 4, Khyati Shah's lawyer told TMZ that his client has been exhibiting symptoms that could indicate brain damage.
"Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury," attorney Vip Bhola told the site. He added that Shah should have been rushed to the hospital instead of just being given an ice pack by personnel at the awards show.
TMZ reports that Shah is currently awaiting test results from a neurologist. Based on those results, she and Bhola will determine whether legal action should be taken.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Miguel was performing at the May 19 Billboard Music Awards when he attempted a daring leap across the stage and missed his mark, accidentally kicking Shah's head in the process. Footage from the incident shows her immediately falling to the floor, though she seemed to recover after.
"Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay," Miguel tweeted post-performance. "Rock and roll made me do it."
