Incredible moment two adult elephants work together to save a drowning baby elephant after it slipped into a pool at the zoo

The incredible moment a couple of adult elephants rallied round and worked together to save a baby elephant from drowning was captured on camera.
The calf had been standing at the side of a large pool in its enclosure in Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea, with one of the adult elephants when it slipped and fell into the water.
The adult elephant looked panicked as it watched the infant struggle to keep its mouth and trunk above the surface. A second adult elephant later rushed to the scene and seems to communicate with the other elephant and they began working to save the drowning infant by entering the water from the shallow end of the pool.

Man bags 2 years in prison 'after dangling baby from 15th-floor window and writing on Facebook "1,000 likes or I'll drop him"

An Algerian Court has sentenced a man to two years in prison for dangling a baby out of a 15th floor window in order to generate "likes" on Facebook.
The man posted a sickening picture of himself holding a baby out of a window in what appeared to be a high-rise building with the caption: "1,000 likes or I will drop him."
After social media users demanded his arrest for child abuse, he was arrested on Sunday and charged with endangering the baby's safety. 

US military refuses to be intimidated after Russia threatens to target every US aircraft it finds west of the River Euphrates in Syria

The US has told Russia that it will not back down after Moscow threatened to target American and coalition planes and drones found in the west of the River Euphrates in Syria.
The threat from Moscow came after the US shot down a Russia-allied Syrian fighter bomber on Sunday afternoon after the plane dropped bombs near US-allied Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Russia condemned the US for shooting down the Russian plane then threatened to retaliate if US aircraft is seen in west Syria. 

Rugby legend, Doddie Weir diagnosed with motor neurone disease

Scotland rugby legend and former British Lion star,  Doddie Weir, has confirmed he has motor neurone disease at the age of 46.
Weir, who earned 61 caps, announced the news on Twitter, writing: “something I think you should know” with a link to the Euan MacDonald Centre, a Scotland-wide research initiative based at the University of Edinburgh, which Doddie has pledged to raise awareness of the condition for Global MND Awareness Day.

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike today alleged that the Federal government was shielding his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi from prosecution because the former governor financed the 2015 general elections for the APC.
Speaking on Tuesday during a special appearance on Channels Television Sunrise Programme, Governor Wike pointed out that the Minister of Transportation closure of courts for two years negatively affected security in the state as security agencies were overwhelmed by the challenges of managing suspects, while Rivers people were denied avenues to ventilate their grievances.

A total of 379 Nigerians were arrested in Malaysia from 2015 till June this year for drug-related offences.

 Federal narcotics crime investigation department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mokhtar Mohd Shariff told reporters in a media conference at Bukit Aman police headquarters on Monday, June 19.

Meanwhile, eight Nigerians, aged 25 to 39 years and a Ugandan, 25, were nabbed on Friday, June 17, for distributing drugs worth RM100,000 in Wangsa Maju. Five of the Nigerian suspects were university students.

Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, was shot this evening while attending an art exhibition 'Russia in the eyes of Turks' in the Turkish capital, Ankara. He was shot in the back by an unknown gunman while speaking at the exhibition

Despite recession, we generated more revenue in 2016 than 2015 - Ambode

Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, says despite the prevailing economic recession, the Lagos state government generated more revenue in 2016 than it did in 2015.

Speaking at a special evening of music and camaraderie held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, to usher in the Yuletide season yesterday, Governor Ambode said as at December 16th 2016, the State had raked in N287billion IGR for the year under review as against N268.2billion generated in 2015. He applauded taxpayers for living up to their responsibilities by paying their taxes promptly.

According to Facebook user, Oluwi Olakunle Brown who shared the photos, the accident occured on Sunday, 18th December 2016 and all passengers in the commercial bus lost their lives.
