Five die in Katsina crashes

The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of five persons in  two separate motor accidents on Monday in Kurfi, Katsina State.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Alhaji Habu Dauda, on Tuesday in Katsina said the first accident involved a Golf car with number plate AE 838 DTM and a Honda Accord car with number plate FE 62 ABJ.
He said the two vehicles had a head-on collision at Batsari junction, a few kilometres to Kurfi.
The accident, he said, resulted in the death of  three persons, while three others sustained injuries.

The second accident, he said,  involved a Peugeot 406 car with number plate EK 871 ABJ and a Toyota Corolla car with number plate AA 787 SFN.
He said the two vehicles also collided at Dabawa, a few kilometers from the scene of the first accident.
Dauda added that two persons died in the crash, while six other passengers, who were critical injured, were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The sector commander, who attributed the accidents to reckless driving, advised motorist to avoid dangerous driving and over-speeding.
