Professor arrested after getting stripping naked during lectures

A college professor was arrested after getting unclothed in front of students during class, according to reports.

The professor at Michigan State University was placed under protective custody after students say he went on a rampage in class.

"My math teacher stripped during class and was arrested! Go MSU!" Wrote one student on Reddit and posting a blurry cell phone picture of a naked man sitting in the school hallway. Students identified the teacher on social networks as John McCarthy, but the university would not confirm the man's identity.

Police received a call Monday afternoon, about a man in Building Engineering at Michigan State University in the hallway who is screaming," according to a statement posted on the website of MSU. Students described the man as a weird math teacher who was smoking meth and never seemed quite right.

"Suddenly during class he started yelling at us, swearing left and right," wrote one student on Reddit. "He then started hitting his hands on the window and pressing his face against it, still screaming. Finally he went down the hall to the end, while screaming. Then he re-entered the classroom and took off his clothes except for his socks."

Another Reddit user commented that "everyone in the class probably could have seen this coming from day one. It was only a matter of time until it happened. "He made the strangest analogies, the most notable about beating his wife," said the student.
Before dismantling, the teacher was "ranting about computers, Steve Jobs and how it's all just an act," wrote another student.

The man has not been charged with a crime, but was taken to a local hospital, MSU said. Meanwhile, the counseling center school "has reached out to students who may have witnessed the incident to offer any support they need."
