About 16 stalls with goods worth about N23 million were lost to the fire incident.

Mostly affected was the corn millers section of the market.

Daily Sun gathered that the fire which started at about 4.30am also consumed shops belonging to grinders, hairdressers, fashion designers and hot drink sellers.

According to Chairman of Bodija Corn Millers Association, Mr. Wasiu Atanda, the fire started at dawn.

“We called fire fighters but they arrived 30 minutes after we called. They used up to five tanks and spent up to two hours trying to put off the fire,” he said.
