Robbers attack police station, banks, killed five in Kwara

No fewer than 30 armed robbers stormed some banks in Offa, Kwara State and a police divisional station about 6pm on Thursday.

Source disclosed that robbers were armed with sophisticated guns and arms robbed some banks and killed five people in the process.

Source also disclosed that the armed robbers also stormed the Offa Divisional Police Station.


The source also alleged that the robbers overpowered the policemen with their more sophisticated weapons and reportedly freed some inmates.

It was gathered that no fewer than five people died and scores injured after the robbery operations and attacks on the police station.

The Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, Mr, Olufemi Fabode, said he had not been properly briefed to comment on the issue.

He, however, confirmed that there was an “incident” at Offa on Thursday.
